What to Look for When Shopping for Makeup Online Nov 26, 2009
Posted by admin | Under buy makeup onlineShopping on the internet is very convenient. The internet has given consumers the power to make purchases at any time of the day or night. Also, and perhaps most importantly, by taking advantage of the level of competition online, savvy internet consumers can save quite a bit of money by shopping online.
There are some items that are more conducive to online shopping than others. Makeup is one of these items. Any internet shopper should look closely at the items on a website to ensure that the product in question is what they have been looking for. Many sites which offer makeup will provide high definition pictures of both the products and colors to ensure a happy purchase. Similar to a walk-in store, when shopping online it is important to take some time to make sure that you choose the product which is best for you.
One of the first things that you should look for when shopping for makeup online is what the colors of various products look like, both in photos and on color swatches. Again, choose websites that have pictures of the actual product, preferably in high resolution or enlargeable images, so that you can get a good look at that the makeup looks like. Color swatches will give you a better idea of what it might look like once it has been applied, so make sure that you take them into consideration as well. By examining pictures of the cosmetic products that you are considering as well as color samples which show the approximate color of the product, you will be able to better judge whether the product might look good on you.
As you begin to get an idea of the colors that you are interested in, take it upon yourself to do a bit of research about the kind of makeup you are interested in. Look at the listing for the makeup product that you like to see if any reviews have been posted. Whether it is a duo eye shadow cream or color-lock nail polish, you should be able to find out about the experiences of others with the same products by searching for reviews online.
Online product reviews are definitely something to look for when shopping for makeup online. If you are able to find user reviews, these brief write-ups can provide insight into others experiences with the product. Even if reviews do not feature the specific colors that you want, the reviews of the product itself should at least give you an idea of how others liked or disliked the product.
Also, make sure that you take the time to check the size options available on any makeup products that you are thinking of buying. A number of websites will feature smaller sizes of many popular products in addition to the larger sizes, giving you the option of trying out the makeup that you think you might like without having to commit to a large size. Though the smaller sizes are not going to last you very long, they should last more than long enough for you to decide whether or not you like the end result of using the product.
When deciding to go ahead and purchase makeup online, take a little bit more time to shop around for the specific makeup items that you want to buy. There are a number of great deals to be found online, provided that you spend a little time looking for them. You do not necessarily have to dedicate a large amount of time to this, but taking at least a few minutes to look around and compare prices can result in huge savings. Not only will you be able to see if other online sites have lower prices on the same makeup, but you may also find special sales or discounts in this manner that you might otherwise never have known about. Some of the new sites that you find might even have other cosmetics items that were not available at the online store that you initially visited, giving you an even greater opportunity of finding just the cosmetics that you want.
After you make your purchase your makeup will be shipped to your door for you to enjoy. Most online stores have several payment options available for your convenience as well as multiple shipping methods that you can choose from. These options allow you to pay for your order using your preferred method and also ensure that you receive your makeup order within an acceptable timeframe. If you are happy with the makeup items that you purchase, most online retailers will save a record of your past orders so that you can easily reference the specific items that you bought and purchase more when you need it.

I NEED HELP WITH MY SHOPPING PROBLEM! 10 POINTS FOR BEST ANSWER..?
I have a serious problem with clothes, accessories and makeup shopping. this probably sound’s stupid to alot of people but it’s really becoming a problem, when i buy new clothe’s etc i get such a thrill and satisfaction from it. my boyfriend of 3 years has had enough of me spending all the money i do on clothes, shoes, bag’s, jewelery and makeup and it’s causing tension’s between us as he think’s it’s not right to shop as much as i do. i have such a love for fashion and looking good but in a natural way, i’m not a Katie Price or a Jodie Marsh! i don’t even buy degsiner clothes, bag’s and shoes, i get all my luxuries from the high street.
it’s got that bad that i’ll wake up in the night sometime’s about 4am and go online and start buying clothes. i’m not selfish, i give alot to charity each month and give alot to my family and also my time, i do alot of volentiring too.
i have my hair done every two weeks, false nails, pedicures, waxe’s, massages and facials every month. i spend a hell of alot on clothes and make up each month which i am not even going to mention.
For example – yesterday, i went into;
New Look
River Island
Topshop
Dorothy Perkins
Zara
Boots (I bought Benefit, Chanel and Clinique Make up)
after i got home i realised i had spent a total of £1,262
yes, it’s mad, i felt great as usual after I had bought all my new things until i got home and my boyfriend was not happy and can’t understand it. i know it’s time to do something and i need some advice and if anyone else has this problem. I do have a very good job, myself and my boyfriend both do and we lead a good life, with a lovely apartment and we both have lovely cars and we lead a great life but my spending is getting stupid. The amount of jewlery, clothes, shoes, bags, watches and make up i have is unreal and i have reacently had our 4th bedroom turned into a walk in wardrobe as the other one got too small.
i work for a big magazine as a fashion journalist and style insider.
i don’t know why i have this problem and there is no under lying cause. i have a wonderful relationship with my boyfriend, family and friends and lead a full busy life which i love and no i do not have any childeren.
i am not in any debt what so ever and nor is my parner.
when me and my boyfriend bought our apartment i stopped buying clothes etc and my focus went on the apartment and it looks amazing, so beautiful and im very proud of what we have achived. when the apartment was finished my shopping obsession started again!
me and my boyfriend spend alot of time together and he does’nt really notice i shop the way i do as i shop before or after work and get home before he get’s home with his job, he just see’s the recipt’s and the amount of bag’s i come home with each day, he really can’t get his head around it which i can understand but on the other hand he say’s he love’s how i take care of myself and how i always look beautiful.
i was food shopping last week and someone who i did not know came up to me and said how beautiful i was and how they loved the clothe’s i was wearing, and it makes you feel great, it really does.
even though i shop alot i would never not wear something again and i rarely throw clothes etc etc out, i love to be creative with outfits.
i always cook my partner dinner, we go out alot and have regular holiday’s abroad and we love each others company and get on so well.
all the clothes and accsessories i buy comes from my money and not my boyfriends, i am very indipendent. i do save ALOT, i have a huge amount of saving’s for the future as i know my lifestyle cant last forever but i do love my lifestyle.
In reply to someone else, sorry not my boyfriend my fiance’ were getting married June 2010.
10 points’ for the best answer, no rude comment’s please. xxx
, thankyou for the answers so far .. keep them coming

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE QUESTION AS ALOT OF YOU ARE SUGGESTING THINGS I ALREADY DO!!!!!
IN REPLY TO YOUR ANSWERS SO FAR; i do have other hobbies to, i own my own horse and ride alot. the shopping is not causing any problems with my family and friends, they encourage me, lol! me and my boyfriend are sooo happy together and i have explained it to him and we have had a good chat about it. i do my shopping 1 hour before i start work and for 1 – 3 hours after work so it does not effect my time with family, friends or my fiancee. he just cant get his head around my spending which as i said is fair enough and i voulenteer 1 a week for a local charity
NO, I AM NOT IN ANY DEBT AND DO NOT OWN ONE CREDIT CARD
Maybe you could try to set a weekly or daily budget for your self based on what your income and current expenses on essential things are.

IT IS NOT A SIN, BUT THINK ABOUT THE BAD ECONOMY. YOU MIGHT BE BETTER OFF SAVING THAT MONEY BY REDUCING EXPENSES. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN EVERYTHING IN LIFE MIGHT CRUMBLE AND YOU DO NOT HAVE A PENNY IN A BANK ACCOUNT EVEN TO BUY A PIECE OF BREAD. BEST OF LUCK

OMG! im just the same and swear i have an addiction, i watched the shopaholic movie and completely related to it, people think it’s sad but now i do what i consider controlled shopping. i really, really think about what im buying and i think about the other things i could spend the money on and i think about people who dont even have the oppotunity to shop and then usually i do something good like donate or volunteer to counteract the shopping

Shopping can be very enjoyable. But you could limit yourself to one day a month, week, whatever, that you can go shopping. Make a budget for the one day of what you can spend. And ask yourself, do I really need another purse? If the answer is no, then don’t buy it. Sorry I didn’t really help much..

Heres my opinion if you like it or not.
I have a shopping problem also but its no way near as bad as yours. If your bf dosent like the fact of so much unused stuff laying around maybe you should have a garage sale. That way you get money back, you should try to cut back on the shopping also, it may ruin the great realationship you have with your bf.

On one hand I agree with your bf, you do spend an awful lot of $$ to make yourself look good. But on the other hand working in the kind of environment you do you would have to look good. But I do think you could cut back your spending just a teeny tiny little bit though.

You have a self esteem issue. No matter how much you buy or pay to look good, it’s not enough. There’s an emptiness inside you, you’re trying desperately to fill with "things". You say you have friends and family, but I have to wonder how deep and healthy those relationships are. Are they based on how you look, always looking successful and happy? Would your family and friends be there for you if you were sick and lost your job? And to be honest, it doesn’t matter what they think. What matters is what YOU think. This problem is bigger and more involved than someone on YA! can solve. Seek a professional.

If you aren’t going broke from all this shopping and you are still saving money, then I don’t see the problem. Just have fun. You work hard for your money and you deserve it. Shopping can sometimes be like doing drugs though. You get this immediate high and then you come down off of it and you are bored. So then you have to do more shopping. It sounds like you have an addiction. It is like being addicted to gambling or something like that. You say you are happy. I used to shop a lot, when i was married and depressed.

well, first of all you are like this..Ok..you love shopping, i completly understand you because i LOVE shopping and i spend it on very "Useless thing"People might say… But, youre this way…i mean you love to shop and that something your fiancee should know and Understand. You are going to get married! I like compliments, i like when people tell me..I look good in my Cloth, i am very fashionable as well! But, if its causing some problems in your family or boyfriends i would recommend to take some time off shopping and have sometime for yourself and your whole family.. you can even talk to your boyfriend and tell him exactly what you told us..that you like shopping and everything and lets hope he understand you and you talk things out! he could tell you hey, i feeel like you spend so much money on this..and you could do an efford and tell him ok, i will stop shopping so Much or some shoes or something like that! Remember youre MARRYING Him and communication is the key too sucess! so, talk it out with your family/Boyfriend and also friends and prove to them theyre most important than shopping is to you..Hope this helps..:P

Create a budget for yourself for each week and make sure you only spend that amount of money on clothes and makeup. No matter what happens don’t break your budget! After a few months of only shopping off of your budget I think you will get accustomed to not buying as much. It seems like shopping is one of your biggest hobbies so maybe if you got into something else like art, or volunteering, or a sport it would curb or shopping desires. It’s good you know you have an issue with shopping and just make sure it doesn’t cost you your relationship because relationships are much more important than material items.

There isn’t anything wrong with a girl being feminine and wanting to buy herself cute things. It is important for us to look good, it makes us feel great and powerful. All women need to dedicate some time and money to their looks so that they can be happy. If you feel good about the way you look on the outside then you will feel GREAT on the inside. But sometimes we get obsessive and start spending way too much time and money on these materialistic things. I had the same exact problem, i just couldn’t stop shopping and spending all this money on my looks it was like i was addicted. I decided to open up a new banking account and give myself a sort of allowance, so every month a certain amount of money would go on that account and that was my limit to that months shopping expenses. It has helped me a lot, now I dont even need that account, i have controlled myself and trained myself to shop with more control. You should try something like that. There is nothing wrong with wanting to shop and dedicate so much on your looks, specially if you are not in debt or anything but don’t overdo it. Maybe find a hobby or something to distract you from this.

same problem :]
It’s really a form of OCD, you need to speak with a therapist and get to the bottom of what is causing you to act in this obsessive manner – there is something you are trying to compensate for most likely, probably something you are totally unaware of. Go get some counseling/therapy and get it straightened out. Good luck.
